Taking the Raphael out for a spin with the FitEar Titan/SP3000 Cu. Love the bass impact and the lovely organic sheen that the Raphael brings. It will of course settle down once it is burnt in. But very pleased with how it sounds out of the box.

Post Canjam SG we went and reworked the ratio a little. The final ver. that you have should have a little surprise at the bass and lower mids

heheh! Great! Cos it did sound a bit different from the prototype I had listened to. Well, glad to hear that you did not interfere to tone down the sheer hedonism of the Raphael.Post Canjam SG we went and reworked the ratio a little. Great to see Raphael in the wild! In my experience GPC is great for bringing a more organic flavour and adding some lovely texture to the bass. I have no doubt that with Raphael, Eletech is presenting a special take on this theme. I know Eric's ingenuity all too well.
Not the latest of Eletech's releases, the Inferno is back on duty again while I work on a review of the Violectric V226 DAC/amp and I thought I would share a couple of images here.
The Inferno's plug even matches the brush work on the V226 perfectly...

Raphael in the house! I received it much earlier on Wednesday. Finally settled down to take some photos. The unboxing experience is really enjoyable For cable wise, I really love the workmanship, and the Y-Splitter / 4.4 connector looks and feels great. And now, back to continue the listening session with AIR2
Opinions about pairing my beloved Mentor with Ode To Laura over First Times? Preference: I have a fetish for soundstage, imaging, airiness, subbass, tick note weight and smooth upper end. FT is actually already very good, I just wonder if OTL could be even better in that regard. Mentor tends to be a bit sibilant with the stock cable, but it’s unproblematic for me with FT.

Glad you enjoyed the unboxing experience! We’ve changed things up a little for the Raphael this time around. Looking forward to hear your impressions

While the Ode To Laura does well with textured note weight and soundstaging/airiness it doesnt transmit a heavy subbass. I dont think there’s a real urgency for upgrade, enjoy the setup you haveOpinions about pairing my beloved Mentor with Ode To Laura over First Times? If you have a chance, demo the OTL and see if you’ll like it more!

So I must say that I am really positively surprised and honored. Not only did I get a (quick!) reply from Eric Chong himself, you even recommended me to stay with my current setup instead of making profit and motivating me to buy OTL. Honestly, that's what I call professionalism and passion, you have earned my utmost respect, kudos! While the Ode To Laura does well with textured note weight and soundstaging/airiness it doesnt transmit a heavy subbass. Maybe there is also somehow the possibility to get OTL as a demo? Or do you have a tip for that?

I will say in this industry you'll never meet someone more honest or quick to answer as Eric is.
Even at the always busy Can Jam's he always has taken time to talk advise and give his honest opinions. I too have received recommendations about gear where he could have sold me something, and recommended I could stay with my existing cable.
I had to reward such honesty and bought the cable anyway. Never looked back and couldn't be happier with that purchase and have made several more since.
Only one other person I find as honest as Eric, but not appropriate to mention here on an Eletec thread.
Thank you Eric for all that you do. Look forward to seeing you at Can Jam So Cal again!
No worries at all. With audio, its usually a case of “if it doesnt sound horrendous, dont fix it” otherwise you’ll be down a rabbit hole. Cables especially, as they fine tune the last 10-20%.So I must say that I am really positively surprised and honored. Where might you be based in? Perhaps i could reach a local dealer and see if there can be some arrangements made.
Too kind as always! I cannot wait to catch up again at SoCal. Just booked everything last week.Have to weigh in here, regarding Eric

Had to cancel London unfortunately due to the insane flight tickets (2-3x normal) during that weekend, must’ve been some local major event going on that i don’t know about..

Yes, of course you are right. In fact, the desire is there for my IEMs to sound more according to my preferences. Therefore, I am looking for a cable that has the following characteristics compared to First Times:
- very important: thicker note weight in the bass fundament (also sub-bass) and mid fundament.
- possibly better staging, imaging, dynamics
- possibly but not necessary darker treble (I know, OTL is not darker here, right?)
- at least as warm or better warmer than FT.
OTL seems like a perfect candidate to me according to the review/comparison of @twister6 (https://twister6.com/2022/08/04/eletech-ode-to-laura/3/). I've only read somehow conflicting opinions about it (https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/eletech-ode-to-laura.26167/reviews), which makes me a little unsure. If you - or someone here - could give an opinion on it, it would be really great. It's a lot of money and I don't want to buy blindly unless I'm really sure.
Unfortunately, I am not aware of any dealer in the EU. But maybe I have overlooked someone?

Thanks! Yes, the Violectric is a great DAC/amp and super versatile. It can drive almost anything from the most sensitive IEMs (no hiss) to hard to drive headphones (save perhaps a select few), it now has 4.4mm balanced as well and the sound is an excellent quality and very enjoyable. Plus, I can finally pair the HD650/Inferno with a proper desktop amp.Heyyy! Nice photos The Violectric is a nice piece , you’ll have tons of fun with it!

hehe, and yah, forgot to mention, your delivery service is very fast. Before I even reach home, the parcel already shown up, and picked up by the Mrs She asked me if I bought something for her Ouch!Glad you enjoyed the unboxing experience! Anyway, I started Raphael's journey with AIR2 first with some of my live concert music such as Jay Chou, David Tao, Bianca Wu. As writing review is not my forte So I am writing based on how I feel on the type of music I listen to. Raphael retain the musicality that I like with AIR2. I also feel that I am nearer to the singer, as the vocal sound bigger and closer. For the bass, I really enjoy it as it tighter and I could feel it is hitting towards me. So far, I am still running Raphael on AIR2, and will be sharing this gem with my other FitEar, during my commute to work

The OTL does excellent for staging , imaging and dynamics. Treble is well extended and smooth, a clean and slight warm tonality. It however does not transmit a heavy powerful sub-bass if that's something you're looking for.
Unfortunately, there isn't any partners we work with for EU. I'll send you a pm in a bit and see how we can arrange.
Psyched, definitely looking forward to the SoCal show!
Heheh, luckily it's not a fancy leather case project. Else Missus might really think it's a surprise gift~!hehe, and yah, forgot to mention, your delivery service is very fast.
