Where do I find shorting (make-before-break) Electroswitch rotary switches (C7 series)? Digikey, Newark and Mouser only have non-shorting (break-before-make) ones. Also, does anyone feel 12 positions is enough, or do I need 23/24 ones? Are any other brands cheaper without sacrificing quality?
I'm using the thing as a variable resistor, not voltage divider, so I need shunt type. For stereo is that 2 pole, or 2 deck or what? I'm not sure what they mean by these terms.
Finally, I need formula or program how to calculate resistor values given attenuation curve. What I need is not a normal log curve due to the application (as in this post).
