I am in love for Nils Petter Molvaer music. Can't stop listening do "Khmer" and "American Compilation", and have just ordered another one, "Er".

I have algo got two Erik Truffaz releases, "The Walk of the Giant Turtle" and "Mantis", and just can't stop listening to them (also ordered "Saloua" this week).

Both featuring an awesome mix of jazz à la Miles Davis with electronica.

So, what else am I losing of this great new genre?

Cheers,
Demetrio.

Enjoy!

DJ Spooky - Optometry is somewhat similar, with a bit harder/techno edge.

Whoa, great stuff. I am checking out the other artists now.

i'll throw in a great, relatively unknown album... DJ Logic - The Anomaly

Logic used to (and probably still does) DJ with Medeski Martin and Wood.

fusion, really. i think the OP is looking for offshoots of the more recent acid jazz genre.

Sorry to bump this one a bit, but I think the OP (and everyone else for that matter) should listen to the album Ki-Oku. It's a collaboration between DJ Krush and trumpter Toshinori Kondo. (LINK)

Just imagine DJ Krush's mastery of turntables combined with some wickedly smooth jazz trumpet. It doesn't feel like a remix album either (because it isn't). The cohesion that these two guys get on this album really is incredible.

If you're creeping around and want a couple tracks to sample, have a listen to the bob marley cover Sun Is Shining, and the track called Fu-Yu, but if you really want to do yourself a favour, just get the album

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else digs this sound as much as I do.

You really need to check out Acoustic Ladyland - Skinny Grin. It's more a fusion of Jazz and Rock or Punk than Electronica, but it will probably appeal to anyone who likes experimental jazz. Extremely fun to listen to, this is jazz infused with youthful energy - and the songwriting ain't half bad either.
