Yo, all.

I be looking for a cheap-yet-good phono preamp. I'm looking for the Koss KSC-35 or Grado SR-60 of preamps (i.e. high price/performance ratio at a sub-$70 price...lower better, of course, if the differences are minuscule in this price range).

I found this on eBay:

Would this necessarily be any better than the $22 ones that are available on eBay, for instance:

They both look about the same (ha ha...yeah, well, I know very little about these).

I talked to a dude at RatShack and to get one of theirs, you must web-order it (they stopped carrying it in the stores).

Any tips, ladies?

Since I've been using the Melos as a preamp, I have used a "lil' rat" from Radio Shack as a "stop-gap" while waiting for my back-ordered phono stage to arrive. While there really wasn't enough gain for my moving coil, I think this little amp would be great for a MM on a less then great TT. For $25, it's one of the real Hi-Fi bargains out there. (BTW, my EAR 834P arrived this afternoon.......bliss is all I can say!).....
