The 595 sounds right on the money given the description of requirements, and he won't need an amp either. The 595 can be driven by a slight breeze.

Yesterday i checked the 590 595 out and the sony cd780 cd2000, and the CD3000

, also i looked at the philips sbc-hp1000

Ok the 590 was probobly the most comfortable for me but i didn't like the sound (don't ask me why i just didn't like it), the 595 sounded good but it was like the sound was realy traped inside my head. The 780 sounded a bit more bright than the 595 and they sounded more like the sound was out of the head instead of inside it. if i head to choose for a sennheiser it would be either the hd600/650 but they are to expensive for me.

The philips had a realy great soundstage and it was more if i was listening to a pair of speakers instead of an headphone, the sound was realy out of the head but it had almost no bass compared to the 595 and 780 and it was sometimes too bright (i would say the older hp890 had way better sound that this one).

The cd2000 sounded not much better than 780 while it was way more expensive, (260 euro for the cd2000 while the 780 is only 110 euro) although a bit more comfortable, it was in no way worth the 260 euro it would have cost.

Cd3000, i just listen to them to hear the difference although i couln'd affort them, these were realy the best of them all, they sounded very good
and they were comfortable enough, but it comes with a price.

I had eventualy chosen for the 780 becouse it was cheap, it sounded good(in my opinion) and it was comfortable, the style of the sound was also a bit like cd3000 which i liked.
the cd3000 however will probobly be my next pair of headphones, when i have the money for them that is
