I am looking for a <300$ amp to drive my HD600. EF1 and 336se stand out as good options. I read in one thread that EF1 is better than 336i in all aspects, but 336se seems improved over 336i, and in another thread that 336seems match HD6x0 better than EF1. Wondering if any other comments from fellows who have experience with both, or other recommendations of amp in the same price bucket?

I think that the 336SE is better for high impedance headphones, but I have not heard it. The EF1 is beautiful with low and medium impedance headphones.
