I just got my echo and am very happy but cant figure how how some things work. When the card is pluged in, the speakers on my laptop dont work but when I plug headphones in, its all good. How do I make it to be compatible with the speakers???

As far as I know, you won't be able to get the speakers to work with it. I assume you're talking about the built-in speakers. The Indigo handles all sound on your laptop now. The internal sound (which is tied to the speakers) goes unused. The only way to get sound back from the internal speakers is to ditch the Indigo. Otherwise, you'll have to get some external speakers and run those from the Indigo.

No version of the Indigo will let you use the internal speakers. Of course, I don't know why you'd want to considering how much the Indigo blows away the internal sound of any laptop I've ever heard.

As far as the benefits of the IO, I really have no idea.
