hi guys, just lookinh for some quick advice
i have been using gaming headets for a while now i must have gone through 20 different pairs and i have really been happy with the sound so im looking to buy a propper set of headphones i will be using them for gaming but the primary concern is music
 
i want an easy to drive set of headphones, easier to drive the better
im considering the ATH m50x headphones because i like the look of them, all the reviews are great and it has a removable cable, can anyone reccomend a better set of headphones before i pull the trigger on these? my budget is anything up to £200
 
additional information:
will be running the headphones from a creative labs ZX sound card... the card has an amp on that claims to be able to drive up to 600ohm headphones
portability doesnt matter the headphones will always be hooked into my PC
and i cant think of anything else

You could also read about Logitech UE-6000 (this are warmer in comparison) that can be found pretty cheap nowadays:

thank you i will take both of those into consideration, i like sound more towards bass so you get a nice warm sound but not so bassy that it kills the mids and highs

In that case +1 for sound magic HP100.
 
I don't think the m50 is spacious enough for gaming IMO.

the HP100 sounds very promising it only comes with a coiled cable though and i hate coiled cables, do they make any straight cables for it?

do you know if its possible to buy those cables separately and use them with the hp100? i dont want an open back set of headphones

I say you should pick up a used Grado SR325i for $200 or so, but those headphones really only shine with genres like Jazz and Rock (electronica listeners beware).

i got in touch with soundmagic today and they told me they dont sell a straight cable for the hp100 so it looks like those are out wich is a real shame because from all the reviews i have read about them i kinda had my heart set on them :/

If you want a lot of bass in a closed headphone, with a straight cable, maybe the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80-Ohm headphones.
