Lately, for whatever reason, I've been focusing a lot on the music scene on the West Coast in the US, specifically stuff coming out of San Francisco and LA and the surrounding areas. I was thinking tonight that I really like the catchy punk that's come out of there after the hardcore movement (I honestly tried to listen to it. I really like it as a concept, but I can't do too much of it). I'm thinking about bands like Operation Ivy, Green Day and Pinhead Gunpowder... basically, bands that played or would have played at the Gilman in the late 80s, early 90s. Any suggestions?
