My Silver Moon balanced cable arrives today to play with the PONO. I am curious to hear the PONO and Velvet pairing balanced.

I saw you ordered the moon cable on the Pono thread a few days back. I've been interested in the Pono for a while, was gonna ask for your impressions of that combo

Yes I will let you know. I had the Fiio X5 for the longest time and really liked it.

Not at all - I just don't know the comfort because I heard it's the same size as SE846 and without comply tips I might not want to take the risk.

And who said I was selling?????

How do your Velvet's compare to to SE846 and Roxanne?

Which do you prefer?

Bass?

All three are excellent, but the Roxannes are like a full-size headphone experience (reminds me of the LCD2.2) and for some reason, I find myself reaching for the Velvets much more than the SE846 (soundstage maybe). The bass is very good on all three as well. If I had to give one up it would be the SE846.

How is fit and isolation on Velvet vs SE846 since I heard they're roughly the same size?

I get a good fit with both. Unfortunately, I only listen in relatively quiet places, so I have no sense of which has better isolation. Next time I listen to them, I will compare.

I think that the Velvet is a real bargain. Get a good cable for it - the Earsonics cables are junk.

Not for me. I ended up using JVC Spiral Dots on both the Velvet and Roxanne.

Do you know a good cable for Velvet that has iPhone control buttons? (except for that Westone cable)

Unfortunately, I don't have any 2-pin iPhone cables. Lots of Westone MMCX. My iDevice IEM of choice is the Phonak Audeo PFE 232. I even bought an extra used one just so I will always have one for my iDevices.

I like the Spiral dots as well for the Velvet. I cut the stem from that little mushroom looking tip so I didn't keep leaving the JVC in my ears each time I removed it.
