Hi all. I recently acquired a one year old Earmax Pro in excellent condition on eBay. The vendor has supplied the original tubes in addition to the Mullard input valve and matched pair of top quality Mullard E88CC gold pin output valves that the new owner had fitted.
Wow. What a sound.
Granted that on the same day I set up my new Naim hi-fi so things were going to be good anyway.
First proper bout of listening tonight and after 30-40 minutes the set-up really came alive. Now I know what all the talk of "Grados love tubes" was about!
Quick question? Is it even worth trying the original tubes to see what I think?
or is the current set-up a big step up?
Cheers, Tony
