I thought I would start a thread to discuss and share pictures of earbuds from Phansak Kaeosalapnil of Earbud Custom Art. Phansak has been creating earbuds for 7 years but started selling his creations about 4 years ago.

'Born from a passion for music, headphones and art...' Phansak tells me, Earbud Custom Art hopes to bring a new level of artistic value to the earbud market. Looking at his Facebook page reveals some of his creative workflow - he draws then sculpts and engraves his earbud housings and works collaboratively with a jewellery studio who are able to complete metalwork casting and add any gemstone finishing.

Here are some pictures from Facebook that show some of the creative process for his most recent model 'Bua' (Lotus), from concept to completion:

I was immediately struck by the artistic slant he's bringing to the table and it has been interesting following his page for the past couple of months. I've seen a few crazy custom designs on there too and while not all of it appeals to me personally, I can still appreciate the skill involved.

I thought I would throw in a few images from my most recent purchases:

King Lion

Garuda

I'm not sure what value full impressions will be as both models are probably no longer available. Needless to say, the sound quality is very good, both have a forward midrange and whatever driver is being shows reasonable detail retrieval. King Lion falls on the thinner side with less bass extension and quantity but good female vocal reproduction while Garuda is much warmer with palpable midbass. Both are enjoyable from the technical perspective with a good near-head staging and separation. Both benefit from amping to see their full colours.

I've been eye balling his work for some time now and im so happy to see how much he's developed. I really want to pick up a Bua...

Likewise! I'm a sucker for shiny things.

Also, congratulations on the Val V1. I'll be ordering one soon! :D
