Ear touching inside of headphone?

I have had this problem with every set of headphones I have ever used... especially with my left earlobe. During extended listening sessions, it can start to feel a little raw.

I had this problem with my D2000. I added materials under the pads, and I also relocated the microfiber cloth attached to the bottom of the ear pad to over the shielding that covers the drivers... No notice in change of sound from moving the cloth, but have noticed the advantages of increasing the distance and angling of the earpads.

If this will help make sense:

Interesting it seems to be the right ear for most people - that is the case for me as well.

Though my RS-1's aren't really that comfortable even with 414 pads(newsflash!) anyway. I'll probably get C-Pads in near future and hope that will help.

Most people's left and right ears aren't exactly the same size or shape. My left ear is slightly wider but not enough to touch any headphone's insides. Maybe it's just an exception to the rule :O.

Anyway, the only way to deal with it is probably just endure it and hope the inside foam shapes itself accordingly or get deeper foam pads.
