I used to experience this sudden ear pain... like a needle was being pushed into my eardrum out of nowhere for a year or so, then it stopped one day.
 
Have not experienced this for a while until recently... its happened every day for the last week now... Anyone know what it might be?
 
Only happens when I listen to headphones.

I am guessing it is too much pressure build up in your inner ear.

You can try to pour a little bit of peroxide in your ear and keep it there for 10-15 mins. It helps me with relieving ear pressure. Not sure how to address ear ache.

I'd suggest getting your ears examined by an ENT speciailist. Maybe its an inner ear infection.

Do not do this. You don't want to directly irritate the ear drum. It can lead to scarring over time if you keep doing this.

Don't use straight peroxide.....dilute it some.

I'm just going to mention this to my doctor in my next appointment (Aka next week) since there's no "Definitive" answer so far.
