I was surfing in the net today (56K) and all of the sudden this Stopsign program pops up telling me to scan for viruses. I have Kerio firewall and AVG running at the time. I never knew I had install this program, does anyone know if it's come pre installed in XP ? I've removed it now as I think AVG is enough.

The weird thing is that all of the sudden it turned up in my program shotcuts & Desktop and it was right at the end in the Programs shotcuts. Which mean it's just got installed, but I've only been connected for a few minutes and only surfing the usual forums that I do daily.

How could this happen? It was like a pop up window but it installed a program in my HD as well!

I was looking at this forum at them time and wondering why it was taking so long to load! I was only connected on the net for about 5 minutes when this thing popped up in my system tray. This bright red icon pops up and it's hard not to see it.

Maybe you clicked on "scan now" by mistake?
This will install their AV scanning software for you to try(and then buy)
I think that the site is legitimate

I never seen that site before in my life! And I wasn't on any site that I haven't been before, just the normal Forums.

Something strange just happened to me as well...I swear I clicked view new posts and I was brought to some other site. I don't remember the name, but it was pretty weird. I just hit back and did it again and it was fine.
