E7+E9, E10/E11, or wait for E17

First time poster! I currently have ATH A700's but am looking to upgrade to AKG K702/Q701's shortly. This brings up the question of amps and portability. I have lurked for a while and noticed that some people report problems with the E9 with lower impedance cans... Is this true? Is there another or possibly superior dac/amp combination for low imp alternative with some kind of portability? I like the idea of having a "charge" dock which I can just grab and hook to a music player. With all this being being said, would it be best to pick up an E9 and wait for a E17?

Thank you for any responses and or constructive criticism!

I saw the release info on the E17 last night and was told by the vendor they are due mid January.  I have an E11 now and was going to just ad the E10 USB DAC but the E17 offers a bunch more connectivity options and from the few folks who have had a chance to hear the model that it sounds as good if not better....so I'm gonna get an E17 and maybe sell my E11 or give it to my kids....here is a pic..

Thanks for the reply, from what I gather, you suggest to wait for the E17. What do you think about the E9? Is it worth getting and then pairing with the E17 or is it unnecessary once the E17 comes out?

The E17 apparently uses the same amp as the E11. If that's true, it'll provide around 2.2 Vrms, or about 75 mW at the K701's impedance. That'll be enough if you don't listen really loud or don't have extra quiet recordings.

FiiO said E15 might be marginally better than E17+E9 (possibly improving upon output impedance, etc). Buy E17 if you need portability, or E15 if you don't.

E15 may support 192k/24bit USB, so E15 will better than E17+E19, as the flagship in our line up. anyway, it sill on the road map but the schedule depend on other products, because we will try to make it as better as we can, at the same time,

we have too many new model to be develop, hope our supporter can understand us.

I thought the e17 would support 192/24 usb. If not, I am anxiously awaiting the e15 and it would be a day one buy for me!

Keep it up Fiio :p

See below quote. It's not even confirmed that the E15 will support 192/24 usb, let alone the E17 which they said [below] will probably move to a 96/24.

Yes, E15 will support below decoder.

USB: 96K/24Bit

Digital input ( coaxial and optical): 192K/24Bit

Line in: RCA."
