Check out the store in question in reselerratings.com first. Loads of these sites are scams.

The E500's dropped to 399 a couple months after they were released. By now, they should be much cheaper.

If you are willing to spend $400 on a pair of IEMs, look into the Westone 3. They will probably be the next FOTM...

And if you order from a certain sponsor on this forum (check the sponsor forum), you can get a Minibox-D free with your purchase.

I'm kinda in the same market for a nice IEM, I do think that $399 is a bit too much for the E500 though, I've seen new ones sold for $215.00 on Ebay just a couple of days ago, (damn, I didnt bid high enough) anyways, You might want to wait til the 3's come out, and wait for some reviews then BAM! come to your own conlusion asto whether you still want the E500's or give the 3's a try,

hope this helps,

New ones sold for $215 on eBay? Could you link me to the ended auction? I've been looking on eBay yet I never saw a new pair go for so cheap!

I'd bite. In fact, I just did. I got mine for that price from headroom. The nice thing about getting it from headroom is that you can use them, play around with the earpieces, and if you really don't like them, return them with zero restocking fee. Plus, the warranty is valid from them. You can find a better deal on ebay, but you probably void the warranty and have no return option.

As for the earphones themselves, they're phenomenal. I had the Shure e3s before, and this is a night-and-day difference.
