E3c's, If you were considering them...

The E3 lacks detail in the upper end and it is perfect for those who are sensitive to highs. The E3 could be of use for me if I had a source that were naturally bright and bass heavy. As far as equing is concerned, I do some amount of equing to my etymotics depending on the source. When the source is the Karma, I use the EQ, but when I use the ipod shuffle, the sound is perfect and I am glad it is because it does not have an eq. I don't really like the E3. For the price, I wished it had more to offer in the area of clarity and bass.

Take the ER4S as an example of a reasonably priced can with ultra high end response. I am enjoying them with my shuffle as I type here.
