Hi there!
I'm a little bit confused on all the models that FiiO has out there, so if anyone could help me it would be great (E17k vs E18 vs Q1)!
My initial setup is very simple: I have a Sansa Clip (rockboxed) plus a FiiO E5.
I know that any amp+dac in the list above won't improve the sound of the Clip and it would serve me as just an amplifier, but soon I will buy a smartphone (possibly a Xiaomi Note 2 Prime or Note 3) and would use that as a portable music player.
So my questions are:
- will the smartphone plus a E17k, E18 or Q1 have a better sound quality than the clip when using the dac function?
- what amp+dac would you recommend (price should be less or equal of the E17k, as this is the pricier of the list)?
I'll be using JVC HA-RX700 at home and Denon AH-C551 and Philips SHE9800 when out.
