E-MU 0404 USB limited with MacBook?

I don't know what a SACD would mean for SQ since I have never listened to one.

My impression is that SACD are sampled at 192khz so with my MacBook and E-MU 0404 usb I would not be able to try...

Funny enough it seems the 0202 usb does not have the same limitation:

"Premium 24-bit/192kHz A/D and D/A converters*
...
* Macintosh analog operation up to 96kHz only at this time."

E-MU Systems - 0202 USB 2.0 - USB 2.0 Audio Interface

If the 0202 usb uses the same D/A converters that might be a better solution for me then...

SACDs are in different format (DSD) so they can't be directly compared to PCM. Normally people say it's about 88.2 kHz / 24 bit. And how can you play SACD on Mac anyway? :O

its nothing to do with DRM, its simply an incompatable format
SACD is its own format, like DVD, HD-DVD, bluray, etc, afaik no PC hardware can actually read it directly, you'd need an SACD player
