How is the Apogee's integrated amp? How does it compare to other amps, including the Dynahi and the DAC1's amp?

I was hoping more for a shot of the internals... but you have a nice case there yourself.

I need to start looking for an amplifier enclosure for my own balanced dynahi. I will build it one of these days.

How is the Dynahi compared to the XLR output of your Apogee?

dynahi beats direct xlr out in all areas except soundstage (pretty close with virtual dynamics nite II plugged into amp).

sft is very talented and produces great work. Before my financial woes I was very close to commissioning a dynamight (balanced dynahi). I'm quite content with the DAC1's XLR output but one day I'll have sft work his magic for me.

I agree that SFT's work is awesome. I have not seen it in person, but wow, the pictures look amazing.

don't have a benchmark handy

, but driving the 650s from apogee xlr out is certainly better than anything below a meier prehead.
OTOH DACs don't seem to benefit as much as amps from PC rolling.

Correction: High quality DACs with solid power implementations benefit less from PC rolling. I noticed dramatic results when I plugged the DAC1 into the P300, but the differences between the PS Audio Prelude and the Signal Cable HCPC were subtle (thought still present).
