I am lucky enough to have found a D70 tube amp while cleaning my father's basement, and he let me have it. I'm not going to include photos; this amp was the most popular tube amplifier ever mad, I'm sure you can find an image. This is, however, a speaker amplifier, with no headphone out port. I really don't want to butcher the connectors on this thing; have any of you modified a speaker amp similarly?

I didn't modify them but I have two speaker tube amps that I use to power my HiFiman HE-6, one is a Copland CTA-504 50wpc the other is an Audio Research D-70 Mk. II 60wpc. Both use 4 6550A output tubes.

Maybe you should contact Bob Latino from tubes4hifi, I have a ST120 from him with 4 KT-120 tubes and it sounds fantastic.  He can make mods of some sort to add a headphone out?
