I want to dye my senn pads black. Do I just go to Michael's and pick any black dye? Is there something I should look for in the name?

Then I just follow the directions and I'll have black pads, right?

Sorry for my ignorance, I have zero experience with arts and crafts.

This has actually been discussed before. Try a seach for dying AND pads. (I know the spelling is wrong, but that's what works.) I recall that some people complained that the dye came off and stained when the pads were worn, so you might like to look into the topic.

Here.

Hope this helps.

I used standard black 'rit' dye.... And followed the instructions.

However, when they were dyed I rinsed them in 'zero' i.e. handwashable fabric detergent for about .5 of an hour. I then squeezed dried them.

No dye came off on my ears at all.

Why black?
I do understand people who wants to dye them blue!! I sometimes dream of my beautiful HD414 with white frame and blue pads, which I wore 25 years ago.... I still own white HD414, but there is no blue pads in market. I had to use them with yellow pads. so Pity.
