I believe will work.
But whats the point of getting a High Res player and yet using bluetooth?

Oh it's just for connect it to Bluetooth mini-speakers during holidays.
 
How bad is the sound deterioration with Bluetooth?

oh ok. As when using bluetooth there will be compression so you might have poorer sound quality as compared to wired.
