I would have been shocked if iBasso were requiring the use of a linear PSU to get a desktop mode, and even more shocked if they included a linear PSU in the box for the price. Regular 12v makes a lot more sense.

My DX340 is on track to be delivered to me tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing what iBasso have come with up here.
My man. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts so I know if I want to pull the trigger.

FiiO M17 had such a desktop mode, no?
It does indeed! But back then when i was looking at it, it still used internal LDO...aka...still going through internal power rails.

I cant confirm what Ibasso dx340 will be, but knowing Ibasso and Paul post a few months back, the internal Supplies is bypassed on Dx340

The battery for the amp is bypassed. It gets 12 volts in from the supply, boosting the output to a little over 2 watts. Also a higher gain can be activated when the 12 volt supply is used. You essentially have 4 gain settings with the 12 volt supply and the DX340 still remains quiet.

iBasso Stay updated on iBasso at their sponsor profile on Head-Fi.

Is the DX340 UAC 1.0 by any chance?

Thank you @Paul - iBasso i was corrected, it would be the amp battery which is bypassed. This is probably similar to the M17. Perhaps, what makes Dx340 as the first on the market is the ability to still utilize battery source for digital processing side of it while desktop mode is enabled ?

This is a slide from Fiio M17 using SGM2200 for LDO

That is very cool, sounds like a tonne of thought and engineering went into this release.

I'm a bit confused, in some places it's stated FGPA Master3.0, but the sticker on top of DX340 said FGPA Master2.0.
So DX340 is using which one?!

I will go with the one on the sticker for Master 2.0 lol!!!

More picture please
It must be 3.0, that's what is in the marketing material. Misprints happen, so that would explain why it says 2.0 on the display cover. There's zero doubt about it, rest assured it's FPGA-Master 3.0. It explicitly says "The number of LUT logic units in the FPGA chip is 7.5 times that of FPGA-Master 2.0. FPGA-Master 3.0 is equipped with a new and exclusive harmonic adjustment algorithm based on FPG-Master 2.0, truly achieving "self-tuning harmonics.""
