DX260 is a bit harsh on the treble, after running in for more than 100 hrs, the harshness is gone.
With Audio Technica ATH-IEX1, it's very engaging to listen to especially female vocals! 😘

and, depending on pairing, this may be an asset. the VE8 with their warm tuning definitively profit from the dx260's treble extension, making them sound more open and alive.

Yeah I PMd Paul who said it.
Its odd if they got latest android on DX180 but higher end 260 is kept on older android.
This is not great.
This is a music player not a phone. Not great? It works, I have not seen any issues with it and it is newer than many players. I listen to music not Android.

its about performance and battery enhancements
FYI, Sony WM1ZM2 a DAP many times the price of DX260 also on Android 11.
I don't see any issues with it.
If you want the latest Android DAP, don't choose Ibasso or Sony, you better off with Hiby player.

I feel it's even better made than official Ibasso leather case. Feel very luxurious.
Made from very good quality leather.

Beautiful cases. Do you know if they make it for the DX180? Also what was the price?

Around US$93. Quite expensive but they are using very high quality leather and the workmanship is top notch, I cannot find any defects on the leather or the stitchings.
I think the DX180 is too new, I’m very sure they will make one for it too.

Hey y'all, almost pull the trigger on DX260, but DX180 is such a tease to pass

Any of you guys/girls have compared these two ?

DX180 is 46 percent cheaper, does DX260 overall performance justify its price tag ??

Thanks for your reply
I had a disappointing experience with the DX180 and ended up paying some more to get the DX260 as a replacement today. You can read about my 180 “saga” on the head-fi 180 forum; it’s a bit early to be absolute about the difference with the 260 but I wouldn’t want to put the 180 down - my experience was not the norm and there are plenty of happy DX180 users out there.
I really liked the DX180; its form factor, Android 13 and above all its SQ. It’s a wonderful sounding dap and I have no doubt that a bit further down the road, I will acquire a blue one - just because! I love daps generally and the DX180 is great if you get a good one.
So far, my time with the DX260 has me thinking in one word terms: refined. It costs significantly more so perhaps this is to be expected.
In any case they are both amongst the best in their respective categories that you can get today imo.

You need to give DX260 sometime too, it will definitely sounds even better after 100 hours or so. When I received my DX260, I find the highs are very harsh but now tamed now and no longer harsh. It got that kind of holographic sound that I really like!

The other DAP that sounds even better than DX260 is DX300Max Ti, but the refinements are quite noticeable have even better resolution than DX260 & the 3D holographic soundstage is even more enhanced.
