Wait until DX340 is out and people have them and see what people say. I just got a DX260 less than an hour ago and 2 leather cases came with it in addition to standard clear one since I bought used. I have the DX180 and LOVE it and sold my DX320 because it didn't pair the best with my IEMs.As a DC Elite Owner, I've been devouring this thread to learn what I can expect from a DX260. I am SO ENAMOURED with the sound coming from Elite that I kind of decided to pick up a DX320 Max - But the thing is just too big for me; I can handle the size no problem but I travel and I run a daily Podcast which means I've got mics, PCs, cameras with me whether on a simple road trip or taking off on one of my summer Harley adventures. I can justify the size of the MAX but I'm unwilling to carry not just two, but two different chargers for it.... SO I'm looking for a close alternative. Part of me thinks to myself, "Just go get a cheap unlocked phone with large battery and simply strap the Elite onto it and you've got an outstanding DAP - and I may just do that - but I need to ask the collctive wisdom and experience here -for those who have or have had both the Elite and the 260, how close are they? I mean I really LOVE the Elite and I know what I'm getting with it - so using a cheap phone with no sim could be the answer, but having what I'm looking for rolled into one package (a DAP) is quite appealing . I dont use Headphones; I'm strictly IEM - so, how does the DX stack up against the Elite?
Hello @Paul - iBasso How about taking the DC Elite, sticking it in a bigger Chassis, putting a screen on it and giving it one Big Ass Battery - that would be my jam!

I understand that there is a need for this, but usually LO is used so that the signal from the DAC can go straight out, isn't it? So if it can be an on/off switch (like some desktop devices) I'd prefer it.This is useful when I pair with external amp such as tube amp with IEM… I usually need to tune down the volume
But it's a good machine anyway, the DAC mode can be uncharged is also good for sound quality.
Correct. The problem with devices which do not have LO (such as Sony WM1AM2) is 'double' amplification. For example, with the Sony, I can never get good sound after pairing with an external amp. For DX260, to be honest I don't know how it does internally but it is just an excellent implementation.I understand that there is a need for this, but usually LO is used so that the signal from the DAC can go straight out, isn't it? A few days ago I contacted ibasso.com in order to purchase a replacement battery for my ibasso dx260 so that I could have a reserve since in this last update I got or rather I have had many errors since the percentage goes crazy. But today I received an email saying that they cannot send a battery to my native Mexico because there is a restriction in my country, this is annoying

Got DX260 today. Again like DX180 CPUs are not allowed to enter into lowest frequency. This even applies at idle without any load. This wastes battery. Only way to fix is to root and adjust setting. I will be making a guide on how to optimize DX260. Ibasso set things how Qualcomm told them to so you won't see a FW update. SQ needs to break in before I will make judgments. Right off the bat I prefer the Dx180 warmer tuning and better bass. DX260 sounds a lot like 320 with stock amp 11.
Those are defaults. I flashed fresh IMG using 660 Tool.
Set to allow lowest CPU so at idle you should see battery savings.

They are likely on the way from Ibasso. They could have them anytime or maybe not updated stock on website and have them.Thank you, but I see that they do not currently have any available for this model.

Very well, my friend, I will keep you informed. Thank you very much. They are likely on the way from Ibasso. They could have them anytime or maybe not updated stock on website and have them.
You are welcome and hope they can send you one soon. I would do a reflash with 660 tool in the mean time. How to do it is in my root guide. That could fix your problem as OTA updates can not fully apply right and give issues. You do not have to root.Very well, my friend, I will keep you informed. Thank you very much.

Great idea. Why didn't I think of that... Of course. I'm in no rush and all my sources still work just fine. Now that you've got a 260, I'd be interested in your initial impressions.Wait until DX340 is out and people have them and see what people say. I am too focused on optimizing it haha. I am trying different things and have a an app that is actually determing actual performance of the OS. Soundwise it needs to be burned in so holding off judgements. I did not like the Dx180 when I got it but after burn in it's my favorite. I can tell it's tuned for a more fun musical sound vs reference like 260 and 320. Why does the 180 have more filter options than the 260?Great idea. Why didn't I think of that... Of course. Cheers for that and I'm looking forward to your optimisation guide! I'm curious how much battery can be conserved with that applied and how it might affect the real performance of DX260.
