I have enjoyed using my iBasso DX200 with amp 2. Since I moved out of my apartment and into a home where I could actually use a high end audio system I find myself using headphones very little. I am thinking of switching my headphones from the Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd gen to the Beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC headphones that hopefully will be released soon. In other words I still will use a music player and headphones when traveling. I fly often enough where portability and ANC are important, so giving up better quality for high quality slightly more portable ANC headphones is worth it to me. I am assuming the new Lagoons will be better than Bose but will wait for reviews.

If I do get the BD Lagoons I would not have any balanced connection, but could use blue tooth 4.2 or a standard unbalanced 3.5 cable. Is there anyway firmware can upgrade blue tooth to 4.2 with iBasso or is this a hardware function only? Not even sure if I would notice any sound quality difference using 4.2 or 4.0 blue tooth. I still have amp 1 so I can use unbalanced 3.5 cable, but I am curious if any later amps use an unbalanced 3.5 connection with improved sound over amp 1.
