DSC05222.jpgiBasso enthusiasts and DAP enjoyers of all kinds rejoice! The next generation of iBasso DAPs starts now with the DX180. Featuring a quad DAC, blazing fast 8-core CPU, and a brand new UI, this is the biggest jump in performance for a new generation yet. And iBasso even did the unthinkable – a removable back cover for battery access. Talk about listening to user feedback! 👏

We already have multiple units in our office and early impressions are really friggin great. My dear friend and long-time DX160 and DX170 owner @stephenkostas is hard a work on a review. You can expect that to drop on our Blog and YouTube Channel this Friday!

The DX180 is now available to order with stock expected to arrive by Friday. SPECIAL LAUNCH PROMO, the first batch of units will be upgraded from 32GB Internal (3GB RAM) to 128GB Internal (4GB RAM) absolutely free. This is a ridiculously great DAP for under $500. Like f'reals, y'all.

Bought one. In another thread I posted my first impressions. Sounds great but, no manual. iBasso website doesn’t even have the unit up and the ssd card won’t eject from the unit. Still, sounds great but without a manual and a working ssd drive, if I had to do it over again I’d wait.

Thank you Bloom - Shipped, Safe, Secure, and Skittled - Now to learn Android again.
Currently scanning in my 1TB card and playing with settings.

Any recommendations for applications? I saw Firefox being mentioned with uBlock or similar. I'd rather use Chrome - I'll check into plugins for that too.

I had DX170 and just got DX180 from Bloom. Even though they seem similar, being part of the same series, I think that DX180 is different in many ways. I love the power and sound of DX170 but it's system can be sluggish, which can be frustrating depending on the type of use. DX180 shows a bit different approach, both with system and the sound. It moved from impactful and fun to more precise and analytical. It inherited a lot from its older sibling DX260 using the same DAC setup. It's more powerful then 170 on the paper too, but both have just enough juice for Dan Clark Audio Aeon Flow which are hard to drive; impossible for many DAP's (https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...k-audio-aeon-rt-review-closed-headphone.19393). Android on DX180 is smooth and works fast; gone are all the glitches from 170. I got 4gb RAM/128MB internal memory version from Bloom, the only version they are selling now. It seems that Ibasso started shipping out a better version first and that they offer it at the price of the lesser one so to promote it - great for early buyers. Bloom is right to call DX180 performance king. I just don't think that it's in a budget DAP category. That's more in tune with devices costing up to 250. I am surprised that there aren't many reviews for DX180 up already as this DAP has capacity to shake the market a bit. Bloom has one but they are IBasso dealers. Still, considering everything I don't think there is another DAP on the market presently that is able to beat DX180 at this price range. It's truly portable, it's powerful, it sounds good, battery can run a whole day (and is replaceable!), it functions smooth and fast. IBasso just made a task for everyone else, especially in this price range. Perhaps it's a mid-level DAP, but it's a tough rival to beat for many DAPs in price range all the way up to 1k. DX160 was my first Ibasso DAP, and I think that their 100 series is where they do their best.

Hello!

I just ordered the 180 after holding it for years. My last DAP was Fiio X5 (2014) and Zishan DSD AKM (2019). I have been mainly listening to dongles, as they provide convenience and portability with streaming services that are now one solution with ibasso's DX180. I hope it delivers, as this one has a lot of Hype.

Best
