Hi everyone,

I have been trying to use my DX160 as a network streamer at home and utilize the schitt stack for full size headphones. Tried using a 3.5mm LO to double RCA directly into the Magni Hersey, and it didn't feel like theres enough juice. So I tried using a USB OTG to the Modi in, and modi being powered externally since there are two USB micros on the modi, somehow DX160 doesnt recognize the USB out. And finally with the recommendation from an older post attached, I managed to use the same 3.5mm to double RCA cable to get the SPDIF out working to MODI.

My question is am i losing any "quality" by using a 3.5mm to double rca only using one of the rca instead of getting another 3.5mm to single rca cable? and also has encountered issues of getting the USB OTG working on external dacs (The USB connection works for me on my windows 10 PC after driver installation and for charging)?

Thanks so much for yout help!

This is really random but if you want to use Digital Coax out on the DX160, you can just use a normal 3.5mm to RCA Stereo cable which are easily found everywhere, and just plug the LEFT RCA (black or white typically) side into your Coax in of your DAC and the 3.5mm side into your DAP and enable SPDIF and it'll work! :)

SPDIF is Sony-Philips Digital InterFace. It's digital. Both channels are carried in 11000100101000101010101010101000000101010101010100000101010010101001000010101010101101011001011000001. It doesn't need more than two conductors since it's digital. That's about as lossless as you can get unless USB digital output handles file formats that SPDIF can't and you actually have those file formats.

Thanks thats perfect. I dont think i have anything spdif cant handle. so should be good. But if anyone who can shed some light on how to get USB OTG working that would be great too.
