The last few years the Dutch pop/rock scene has delivered a few nice bands.
Here are some (with a few YouTube fragments). Please tell me which you like.

A Balladeer

a few songs:
- Swim with Sam
- All I wanted
- Fortune Teller

Anouk
genre: rock ("rockbitch")
a few songs:
- Michel
- Nobody's Wife
- Girl
- Sacrifice

Racoon
genre: pop/rock
a few songs:
- Laugh about it
- Love you more
- Girl
- Sacrifice

Kane
genre: rock
a few songs:
- Rain down on me
- Dreamer
- So glad you made it
- Sacrifice

The Sheer
genre: rock
a few songs:
- Right now

The greatest Dutch sanger is Marco Borsato. A shame he only sings in Dutch.

Marco Borsato
genre: pop
a few songs:
- De speeltuin (The Playgrounds)
- Bestemming (The Destination)
- Zij (She)
- Rood(Red)
- Een wereld zonder jou (A world without you)

I will list some other bands later

Anyone know of any music coming out of Fryslân? I've always been interested since my Mothers side of the family comes from there.

[singing in English is not a requirement... I already listen to quite a bit of music in other languages]

The only Dutch bands that I've heard, at least that I know of, are Focus and Flairck. Focus sounds dated, but I still love Flairck. I've never seen any of their albums on CD.

2 biggest band from Fryslân (for outsiders: a province of Holland) are 'De Kast' and 'Twarres'. You can Google them

Everyone knows Radar Love by Golden Earing (they are Dutch). For a while there in the mid 70's they put out a few really good progressive rock albums but became quite bland later on. I used to really like the album Switch (1975) and their double live album that came out in 1977.

I didn't realize they were Dutch. Did they sing in Dutch at all, or were they aimed at the English market?

I've never heard them sing in Dutch. Most Dutch people are quite fluent in English anyway. Only met one older person in Holland in '85 who couldn't speak English.
