I need some cheap durable headphones. I want to be able to sit on these and step on them and they need to keep ticking. I have listened to the HD201, they sound great but are they durable. I know my HD212s are durabel but they are a little pricey for a cheap durable headphones. Koss KSC 35/75 sound pretty durable but i don't have any experience. So what are the most durable headphones you have used? (i'd like them to sound good too)

The most durable headphones I've had are the Sennheiser 497s which just keep taking beating upon beating for years, dropping it, tossing it in my backpack etc etc

And they still keep working!

MDRV6 is moy most durable can.... BY FAR. Sat on, stuffed in a backpack, thrown all over the place and abused in more ways than one.

V6 seconded. Very nice build quality, lots of steel and little plastic. They next time you are at a live show ask the sound guy how long he has been on the road with the 7506's he's wearing.

They were my first "good" cans and they set high expectations: I have been slightly disappointed in the relative build quality of every can I've gotten since.

I don't know but Senns HD25-13 aren't.

A lot of earpads plus cables have been changed around this years.

Of course, my HD25 sound perfect 10 years later, being involved in very hard DJing sessions...

thanks, I'll probably go with the V6s. The whole breakoff thing was the modular design of the 212 and 497. when you step on them or something the earcups will usually come off but then you pop them back on. But, it did make me laugh.

Another vote for the Sony V6. I murdered my innocent Grado SR-60's at school and somehow managed to lose the rubber tips off Sony EX51's, but the V6 survived without any signs of damage (besides one of the curls in the cable being uncurled, if that makes any sense). I've even half-jokingly played jump rope with the V6's cable.
