I've been looking into getting the UE super.fi 5 pro's, as bass response is important to my portable listening, but I've been disturbed by the amount of reports of cracking and general malfunctioning. Granted many also report their customer service is great, but I'd rather not have to send my IEM's in every couple of months. So my question would be, first, are my worries unfounded, and second, if UE's do have a high failure rate, is there any durable IEM under $200 with a decent bass response? Thanks

The SF5 is now manufactured with a newer housing that does not suffer from the earlier random cracking.

You're going to have trouble finding bass in other IEMs to the same magnitude as the SF5 Pro.
