Studio. Any place in the world that makes the whole world around dissolve in front of one's eyes and ears, and open one only to one's imagination. SA3, lovely shells.
The SA3 kinda has this feeling. I wrote my initial impressions in a thread over in this DUNU Studio thread. (We should probably make an official DUNU Studio thread, but I will let someone else do that for now :) ).

These sales are great - I'm gonna snag the blanche cable.

I'd love to see what DUNU comes up with for a possible USB-C quick switch connector. Maybe a tall order (or not) - but if the SQ/power can match or beat apple's stock iphone dongle, I'd be even more interested (though I have no idea what exactly is possible given the space limitations!).

To be fair, I'd be interested in this kind of connection either way, though, and actually was thinking of messaging you guys about this - so it's awesome to see some mock-ups!

I don’t know what price you might target for the adapter but IMO...if you can add a bit of power (?) vs. the anemic iPhone stock dongle (but retain the specs/decent attributes), add a touch of the warm smoothness of the Fender AE1i dongle, with the clarity of the Orb Clear Force dongle (see mtmt audio for these, or I can send for reference) - you’d be on the right track in my mind. I have less of an idea about what’s possible with these kinds of tiny DAC/amps these days though.

@DUNU-Topsound Feel free to PM me if you want any additional feedback. I would seriously love something like this connector.

I feel the usb-c would be best if passive. Wouldn't be the best quality because of using the internal dac on everyones phones but, cheapest, easiest to build, and possibly good compatibility across devices?

Maybe I'm wrong on the last part but at least you wont have to worry about competing with every usb dac on the market.

The ZEN looks really good! :) How does it sound?

No one knows yet except for Andy, our acoustic engineer. When he comes out of meditation, we'll know.

A completely passive solution would run us into issues with compatibility unfortunately. Convenience is the foremost goal. So a codec chip with wide compatibility characteristics and acceptable sound quality was the alternative. While our preference would've been to use a very high-quality codec chip (like these), we wanted also to keep the price as close to that of an analog plug.

I've had the Titan 6 for about 2 months. It is a very nice earphone indeed! Very comfy and sound quite large & dynamic. Great stuff DUNU!

Definitely interested in picking up a usb type C removable connector ! I would want it to have a high-quality DAC chip inside though.

Our concern with using a higher-end chip inside would be cost. The lowest we could practically make it would be around $65, as chips like the ES9281/9270 or CS43131 all hold considerable cost. Plugs are easily lost, and we would like for them to be fairly affordable. The other thing would be whether the marginal improvement in performance would justify the higher price. It's a difficult question.

Dunu has offered so many varieties of IEMs over so many years. But you've never built a portable DAC/Amp that would offer the best possible synergy with your products. You don't have to diversify into DACs, amps and DAPs, but just one portable DAC/amp as a reference to your own IEMs could help your IEM tunings understood best, and in the same way your designers intended them to be. And since the game is getting really hotter in a segment like cable-like portable dongle-DAC (that is going to make more sense than high-end portable palm-sized DACs to most consumers), maybe you should try and build just one sub-$200 dongle-DAC with the best possible chip you could put inside it and be done with it. Just one DAC/Amp that happens to be a dongle which most Dunu IEMs pair best with. Dunu and Dunu users will be on the same page from then on with regard to tuning intentions and tunings received. And you might also have the opportunity to offer that dongle DAC as a combo with each IEM offering like Sennheiser or Focal does with their headphone+amp offerings. Add the 2.5mm+4.4mm+3.5mm adapter cable set to the combo, it will be even more irresistible.

Maybe two versions then?...a base and a higher end version would be cool. (Two versions adds costs too though I bet.)

Maybe we could poll how much people would want to spend, idk.

I agree about the ~sub $200 level...I feel like something that compact and with awesome SQ might make someone want to buy one of the cables just for that option.

I don’t think it has to be tuned to dunu iem’s though. Just their golden ears tuning : ).

Dunu hasn't been offered TWS Bluetooth. 2pins, mmcx TWS with Bluetooth 5.0, aac, apX, apX hd, LDAC codecs, and 8-10hrs run time to use with Dunu IEMs.

Yes. I'd love to see something like this.

While we would love to offer two different versions, it would require more money. It's unclear how many people would pay for a $70 modular plug because it has a high-end DAC/amp SoC.

If we produce them 'on demand' it'd only make sense to purchase leftover chips from other companies, but for certain chip suppliers, that would be a breach of contract that would not bode well for both buyer and seller.

Maybe we can use this opportunity to do a blind A/B test --- we test the current low cost solution against a prototype with a high-end chip. 🤔

True wireless is something we've already finished working on. Our solution even has ANC. However, we need to wait for the billion different certifications on the product to be passed for it to come to market.

About the "True Wireless" something, is an earphone or headphone, because that sounds very intriguing, especially is it has LDAC

$70 modular plug with high-end DAC/amp SoC is good price as music player cost few hundred-thousand dollars. Furthermore, The phone can be used as a streaming music player instead of managing two devices. It would be nice if the modular plug works with IOS(iPhone) as well.

For the Dunu Chord and Noble, besides the higher gauge and copper shield in Noble, can you advise what is the sound difference or improvement between the 2 cables?
