@dnun8086

Here is the preset I use, .

@Daniel4IEM

It's generally known that 4K is the frequency range where sibilance can mostly be heard. If it's slighty reduced it can reduce sibilance to lower levels.

I find this preset generally works the best for my sound signature and really brings the 2K on another level for me.

sibilance lies between 6-9k as for as im concertned, not just 4k. 4k is honkyness.

I heard many people are giving away their old ones to me. This is the plan.

  What are you planning to do with so many dunus?

A Head-fi giveaway of course! You know me, always looking out for this community.

But in all seriousness, your question does bring up a complicated first world problem. With the release of the newer DN-2KJ what are we going to do about a discussion thread? Should we adjust the thread title and let DN-2000J continue its legacy here or start an entirely new conversation piece? This is something I'm leaving in your hands Ophiel, I want you to ponder on the situation.

I will return for your answer in one weeks time. (168 hours)

I would prefer to combine both DN2k and DN2kJ into this thread since I'm kinda stuck with the DN2000, for better or worse only the future will tell. From the naming of the products, one can expect them to sound fairly similar to each other, so continuing the thread would make sense. But what happens in the end is out of my control, and I'm fine with whichever.

Nah I kid. Actually, I'm secretly hoping the DN2kJ is more of a question of preference for sound signature rather than being unquestionably better - just like the DN2k vs DN1k (at least to me). I already sent them for reshell because I really like them so much .

I think combining them as one is a good idea, I'll adjust the thread in coming days.

I'll also paste a link and post/page number in the OP where DN2KJ conversation started for future readers.

How is the bass on the Dunu DN-2000 compared to the Shure SE215? From research it appears that it is more natural and balanced. Is the bass level less or more on the DN-2000? How would you think the DN-2000 would sound if I used it with my ZO2.3 Bass Booster Amp, do you think it would improve the bass?

Mid bass is lacking but sub bass is good when it needs to be it very balanced so it doesn't have any mid bass hump like some other HP. The 2k bass is more controlled and defined not boomy as the shures but ill take it any day. As to the ZO2.3 i have no clue but it might don't have it to tell you but with my C5 the bass boost helps quite a bit making just perfect.
