Oct 30, 2019 at 11:28 AM Post #16 of 75
We will be at CanJam NYC! You're very welcome to come and take a listen in February. You wouldn't happen to also be traveling to Shanghai next next weekend would you? The LUNA will be available for audition there. We're still readying our announcement material here on Head-Fi, but it'll come out either 10/31 or 11/1.
I'm afraid I can't, it coincide perfectly with my exam schedule:triportsad:

Can I ask what the price is on these and any comparison to Falcon-C / DK-3001 ?

Just pulled the trigger on this pair, i must admit I’ve been toying around my 4001 lately and cant stop pulling em back, today i got the 3001pro and loved the sound signature, the recurrence of amazing high end cables, amazing beryllium drivers and portability size of the iem and switchable terminations of the cables are making dunu my fave brand, I’ve been obsessed with imr for a bit, needed a break from the aten before the rah, and the dunu gives me a “similar” flavor but with a something that i cant describe, I’m just enjoying way too much the experience.

By the way, their online assistance is amazing, the staff has been super receptive and attentive to me, i recommend a lot their customer service, the only other guy who has been this concerned with my experience has been Bob from imr, as a business owner i know this is the fine line between a great experience and a “ there’s a ton of other options around, whatever” i congratulate the Dunu team for this. They make the experience of owning their products quite amazing.

Ill give my impressions as soon as I get my pair

Wondering how the Moonshot would compare with the Dunu 17th.... exciting news

This would be an interesting comparison indeed! We will release a little more information on the LUNA soon.

:new_moon::waxing_crescent_moon::first_quarter_moon::waxing_gibbous_moon::full_moon::waning_gibbous_moon::last_quarter_moon::waning_crescent_moon:

And you, sir, have the ideal username for the LUNA! :new_moon_with_face:

Just to provide some additional information, we have just posted the official Head-Fi version of the press release for LUNA:
https://www.head-fi.org/threads/int...oil-diaphragm-flagship-dynamic-in-ear.919227/

Includes just about everything people would want to know about LUNA!

Can I ask what the price is on these and any comparison to Falcon-C / DK-3001 ?

The 17th Anniversary Limited Edition model is sold on a case by case basis and like @AlexCBSN below, we try to make sure this model is in the hands of people who would really enjoy it. There are a few preconditions, of course, such as having owned DUNU products in the past, but our main concern is trying to make sure the owner is someone who would use this model for enjoying music. So it is a process of first figuring out the potential user's current array of audio products and seeing whether the 17th Anniversary Limited Edition model is a good fit. It's like any higher end shopping process --- people want to be sure such a product is indeed made for them.

With all that being said, the 17th Anniversary Limited Edition model will be closer in sound signature to the DK-3001 (original) than the FALCON-C. However, it sounds like neither. It is a little bit more mid-forward than the DK-3001 and much more than the FALCON-C. Overall, its sound signature does not stray too far from our neutral target, but there is a very slight bass bump and very gentle treble sparkle. Highs are meant to be well-extended and soundstage is tuned to be a natural as possible.

Thank you for the response @DUNU-Topsound

I already have 5 pairs of DUNU iems. Only the DN-2000 decided to give up :) and the DN-1000 I gave to my brother to experience. Mid forward sounds good to me.
I'm someone who really loves the sound of the DN-2002 - likely my favourite actually, even though their sound is completely different to the others. But I switch between all the DUNU's, sometimes carrying them all with me. I have never regretted any DUNU purchase.
Perhaps I will enquire about these.

Well, this (and other Goodies) just arrived
Must admit, this is a win for dunu, relaxed tunning with quite impressive bass, I’ll give more impression as we go, but for the first couple of hours, I’m impressed

Hi guys, I admit that Dunu makes wonderful IEMs for any budget and would like to understand whether I gain anything of having this 17'th edition vs DK-3001 pro? I know it's 1 dynamic driver with all the benefits of the beryllium coating, but it's a theory. Would be interested to hear your real feedback.

I'm actually thinking its a matter of tuning and tastes. The ergonomics are likely to be identical so it will come down to if you like the tuning of the 17th vs the DK-3001 pro.

Thanks for the reply. That's exactly what I asked: how much the 17'th different from the 3001pro? what's different? Considering that they are almost twice more expensive, is it an upgrade or just a sidestep? I liked the original 3001 and enjoy the pro version as they're more neutral and have higher resolution.
Thanks in advance

This limited edition model has a unique sound signature, and we'd like to emphasize that, even though many of our drivers are identical in size, 13 mm, they are ALL DIFFERENT ---- different base polymer, different PVD coating thicknesses, different grain structure, etc. A single dynamic driver will also offer distinctively different timbre qualities to a hybrid design.

Specifically with regard to the 17th Anniversary Limited Edition model, it will have a little more treble energy than the DK-3001 PRO overall, but it won't have the same prominence in specific treble regions that most balanced armature designs tend to have. Thus, the treble response will be heard as better extended without feeling overly bright.
