I've heard rumors of a lot of good dubstep being out there in the world, but I don't know where to start. I'm just starting in EDM and I mostly listen to electrohouse, with deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner being two of my favorites. Any recommendations that might make me enjoy dubstep?

Well, if you like most mainstream music (which both deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner are), than a good place to start would be here:

I'd say your first step would be listening around the internet for a while and jot down the songs that you like. After you have a somewhat preferable list, google them and find out what 'style' of dubstep the songs are you like. It sounds sort of silly, but there are many styles of dubstep out there. For example; Liquid, Dirty, Aggressive, Chill, etc.

I listen to mostly 'Chillstep' myself. It's more of a soft, calming, trance-like style of dubstep that just seems to put me in a different world. Check out this channel, I pretty much live off of it:

Best of luck, and welcome to the world of dubstep

It's tough trying to find good songs and artists...It's basically a never ending search

I'd recommend looking up dubstep.org channel on youtube.

Check out Knife Party, Pegboard Nerds, Excision..

I always think Blackmill is a good place to start when venturing into dubstep for the first time. Check out these links and let me know what you think:

I'm not the OP but I'd love more of this kind of thing. Just got the Blackmill discography based on those two links alone. Anything else similar? I already listen to some adventure club which I also find great. I believe they would sort of share the same genre? I don't know really.

Off the top of my head I'd give these a try:

Feint - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32pHvXsxa9o
Trifonic - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oQDBxhtFHw

Let me know what you think.
