Dual Core MP3/MP4 players (Teclast T29), any good?

I saw on Ebay an MP4 player called Teclast T29 with dual core (Telechips + Wolfson DAC). I wonder if anybody here owns it. Is the sound really good? Technology seems fascinating, separate decoder and DAC chips. I am tempted to buy one.

Appreciate any comments.

  3. Part of a line of mp3 players ..so not a first
  4. Supports major formats
  5. cheap to buy

  1. warranty problems as released exclusively in china and Taiwan
  2. small capacity, up to 5gb
  3. Cant find a thing about the build or sq
  4. since its cheap to buy and marketed at the chinese market maybe its cheaper to build.

But it looks ok..

It doesn't make any sense to combine the sound of the teclast t29 with the looks of the teclast C260 and limit the sorage to only 2 gig. If your not realy into video I would suggest getting the 8 gig t29. Now if you want the best of both worlds concider getting the 8 gig Meizu M6, the player I believe teclast is trying to copy and make cheaper. $200 for an 8 gig Meizu M6 is a no brainer.

How would you think SQ would differ? The Telechips + Wolfson DAC are (according to most on Head-fi) very good. Also I don't really care for space, as I usually change my music everyday. (Just need enough for 2 hours of music)

Its hard to find any good info on this player. Its all in chinese. I wish I could get my hands on one. I'll be waiting for that guys reply as well.

I've owned this player since not long after its release.
It's a very nice player, firmware might be a bit lacking but it does what it advertises and it does that very well.

Sound is GREAT, much better than the iPod's I've heard. Video is superb. Just a nice player, good battery life.

Sadly though the 3.5mm headphone jack on mine came loose, causing a faulty connection. I resoldered it on there but the contact wouldn't last. As of now I can't fix it.

It's a great player with great sound and good build quality. I'd probably recommend you a Meizu M6 Miniplayer. But the T29 is a very good choice as well.

I have Teclast T39 for less than a day and it sounds good with a good headphone(UM2). The bundled IEM sucked.

UI (touchscreen) aint so great. Its just not intuitive. I have to read the manual to figure out all the settings. But SQ and the price I paid($164 for 8GB) makes it worthwhile. Also it looks good.
