Dt880 vs k712 pro??

What is your preferred sound signature?

What amp will you be using?

Both are very good.  The DT 880 is on the bright side and comes in multiple versions & in 3 different Ohm ratings.

I have fiio e10k,sound signature somewhere between neutral and treble,
Also which shows more details in a song k712 or dt880??

I am really confused between the two and cannot find a thread which compares them head to head
So can't decide which one to get please help??

Might do better just to find a used AKG K7XX

In general. I think more people would prefer the K712, over the DT880
And I think the K7XX would get you close to the K712.

The K712 (more neutral) and DT 880 (brighter) both fall within that range.  The DT 880 (250 Ohm) and K712 are fairly close on detail.  When selecting between these two, the preferred sound signature will dictate the "winner" 85% of the time.

The K7XX mentioned by PurpleAngel are the best $200 cans that I have heard to date.

But it should be much more expensive?
DT 880 costs 215-230€ here. AKG K712 costs 350€, almost like the better T90.

And, since the K712 is pretty much just an K701 with WORSE soundstage/resolution, but MORE bass.... well, i would NOT buy the K712 without comparing it directly to a T90.
(but again, with MY known prices. idk how prices are in your country^^)

Totally agree with you .From what I have heard and read t90 would totally spank k712 naked.
also I consider t90 more worthy than k712 only problem is t90 cost 1.5 times that of k712 so bad luck for me
K712 cost similar to dt880 so k712 for me I guess.
Also me being a student less budget

Check out the AKG K612 Pro, might be a better choice for a student budget.

Needs an amplifier to sound it's best (it's even a little harder to drive the the 250-Ohm DT880)

Here in India k612 pro costs more than twice it's U.S price and k712 is rs5000(<80$) more than k612 pro
So k712 pro proves to be a better bargain, also I get 62ohms as headphone impedance

The 62-Ohm AKG 700 series is considered to need as much power (if not a little more) then the 250-Ohm Beyer headphones.
