shame on you for comparing the dt880's to the 595's.

if anything, the DT880's should be compared to the 600/650's

Seriously, this all began as a quest to find a suitable headset for gaming and has turned into a near obsession to find the right headphones for me. When I first started I wasn't planning to use the headset for anything but gaming, but when I made the decision to purchase headphones, I knew that they would open up a whole new world, one in which I could not only enjoy gaming, both online FPS as well as immersive, truly rich sounding single player games, as well as music.

Currently, I'm trying out the AD700s and HD595s paired with the mixamp. I keep reading about the DT880s and I'm on the verge of purchasing a pair, but don't know whether to go with the 32ohm or 250ohm version with the mixamp. The easy answer, based on specs is the 32ohm, but they are relatively new so there's no general consensus as to how they sound compared to the 250ohm.

That's right: the 595 is vastly better in my opinion. I tried the 880Pro and ran screaming from the room at its brightness...oh,. the brightness!!! Couldn't wait to get back to the relative neutrality and flatness of the 595.

Not only should it be compared to the HD600/650s...the 600ohm version bests them too!

fixed. Though this is just my opinion.

I'm going with the DT880 in my experience stomps on the HD595, the HD580 and the HD600. Perhaps the 600 or 650 could get close with sufficient amping.
