Recently I've noticed that there's a equipment developed by STAX called Stax ED-1, it gives you a "out of head" sounding when you use it with Stax Lambda Professional. Apparently some head-fier simulated the ED-5, ED-1 and ED-1 Signature: http://www.head-fi.org/t/675545/stax-ed-1-and-ed-5-eqs-emulation. After trying the convolution plugin in my JRiver Media Center, my Stax Lambda Pro sounds great with acoustic and jazz recordings, it almost sounds like speakers. I think it has something to do with the FIR filter. Well anyways I'm not very great with all these dsp knowledge, so I did some research and apparently sound filters can change imaging, and that's why it gives me a "out of head" feeling.
I did some tweaks and try to make my DT880 a "out of head" sounding plugin, I don't know if I did it correctly but apparently the imaging is better. So now I will upload them and share with you guys, feedbacks are welcomed.
For those of you who uses JRiver Media Center, just go to Player->DSP Studio->Convolution and select this wav file and it will change the sound automatically.
