is there a significant/noticeable difference between the bass outputs of the dt770-80 vs dt770-250 if the headphones are being run from an amp?

i've heard a lot about the huge bass of the 80 ohm model, but haven't heard much on the 250 model. personally, i prefer the look of the new redesigned silver dt770s which only come in 250 or 32, so i'm wondering if the bass levels of the dt770-250 are similar to the dt770-80.

thanks.

I have a pair of the 32-ohm model of the DT770 and a fair amount of experience in the Beyer headphones. I agree, the 80-ohm version of the DT770 is definitely the most bass-heavy model. However I haven't heard the 250-ohm model (mainly due to power restrictions). I would suggest looking at another forum that helped me make my decision to go with the 32-ohm model. If you search "Information Sonic Differences Between Dt770 Dt990," you will get a post that has a MASSIVE amount of information on the entire DT line. I would highly suggest checking it out. Here is the direct link:

He offers a quality review of each impedance level of each the 770, 880, and 990 models. Great read and highly informational.

And since you also mentioned the 32-ohm model, I'll give my input as to the bass level. At first, it was present but had a fairly "veiled" sound to it. After about 20 hours of burn in time, the bass really came alive. The 770 32 ohm version has a lot of bass, but it is very tonal and clean, as opposed to the clumsy, boomy bass that come with the Beats (in my opinion).

The bass is always kept behind the vocals and mids (again, personal preference) which also allows for a fairly wide soundstage.
