I have a DACmagic and Little Dot MK VII and am trying to choose between these two headphones as a second, to go with my HD650.

Both the DT770 and DT990 are said to have a lot (or too much) of bass, and I've read descriptions of both being sibilant.

From reviews I can tell the consumer versions are supposed to be superior to the pro versions.

What I need to know is:

Does balancing or getting the 600ohm version of the DT770/DT990 make more of an improvement?

Are there any direct comparisons between 600 ohm, or balanced, or 600 ohm balanced DT770/DT990s?

I realise I'm asking a lot of questions, but any information would really help.

Cheers,
Rez

Okay I'm just going to bump this thread one more time to ask if people find their ears touch the driver foam (like on my HD650s which is annoying) while using the standard velour pads. Also if they do, which pads don't?

i thought the only difference between the consumer and the pro version is the clamp strength of the headband?

and when i wear the dt990 pro the top of my ears does touch the driver foam. but its not bad
