I have a DT770 pro. 250 and a Denon D2000. I feel that one of these would suffice as my closed set of cans. I use a corda 2move as my amp. I am torn as to which one I should sell. I would like to hear input from the crowd.

Seriously? Really? You got the two headphones in front of you, you can compare and listen. And you need Head-Fiers who don't can't hear for you, make the decision for you?

I really think, this should be completely 100% your decision.

That totally makes me want to try D2000 now, I sold my DT770 pro 80s, I thought they had resonance issues, one note bass.

The D2000 bass isn't any better IMHO.

To me and some others, yes. I think they are well balanced, and do a lot of things right, and not so much wrong.
For me they are a good compromise.

But there are also Headfi-ers who don't like them at all.
They have the opinion that they are too warm, too laid back, too much of a midbass hump, too muffled, too much of a treble roll-off.
It comes down to taste and gear I guess.
If you want a highly detailed headphone with a lot of treble energy, these are not for you. To my ears they are a hybrid of the HD580 and the Sextett.
Oh, and the DT150 are not comfortable.
And they suck with heavy metal.

Here's one of my favorite reviews, where the DT150 is compared to the Pro900: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/how...ml#post5226495

And another recent review, also a good one: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/dt1...review-411539/

Hmm... it will be interesting to compare it with my modded D2000, I guess I'll have to ask for my friend to bring his for the next meet. I also feel that the stock D2000's bass was too overwhelming and of course that treble spike which led to harsh high and sibilance but a little bit of tinkering can fix those.

So... My brief DT150 impressions, here we go.

It sounds full-bodied but loses in terms of sparkle and clarity to my modded D2000. It also sounds less balanced because of the persistent lower-mid hump which adds color to your music. I also prefer the comfort of my D2000. I do prefer the mids of the DT150 though but that hump could be annoying for some music unlike the mids of the D2000 which is nicely integrated within the spectrum.

I won't say it's better or worse than my D2000 but it's really what kind of sound that you prefer that will be your final gauge. The D2000 sounds more balanced for sure but perhaps if you dig that kind of warm-ish and rich sound, the DT150 would be better. So Tiemen, you are right.

I wonder what headphone the OP decided to keep.

Haha, well currently I still have both, though I think I send them both on their way. I have the DT2150 which I still have not heard, but I feel the Hd580s are where im at. If in a year or so I decide need a closed can, that I will have a better understanding what I am looking for. Both are good cans in their respective places.

On a side note, if any one is interested in a DT770 or a D2000 don't hesitate to PM me
