Hello guys,

I'm looking at purchasing the dt770 250 ohm cans to use for gaming and listening to music (typically bass heavy dance music).

I'd love to be able to go for the 990's but I listen to music whilst out and about so need good quality cans that don't leak quite as much as any of the open ear ones.

My question is, will the 770's be good enough to use as gaming headphones?

And will this setup work:

Laptop - > xonar u7 - > FiiO E11k - > dt770 (for gaming)

And

Phone (HTC One m8) - > FiiO E11k - > dt770 (for music)

Patience. Supposed to wait 24 hours before bumping a post

Open headphones are typically better for gaming than closed headphones due to their better soundstage. So there is that trade off.

But the DT770s have a decent soundstage for closed headphones. And definitely a good headphone for someone that would like bit of extra bass for EDM.
