I have the Beyerdynamic DT1990's and wanna try out the A pads. I took the B pads off but I'm having a hard time figuring out how the new pads go on? Could anyone explain the best way to do this?
If it's anything like the DT880 then it's a huge pain in the ass haha. I thought I'd NEVER get my stock pads back on! Thankfully they've stretched out a bit and are a little easier nowadays.
You need something to pry the retainer off the housing. It simply pops off. Once you get 1 out the rest of the tabs come easier. Put the new pads on the retainer before reinstalling. Once you have done it once, it takes 30 seconds.

There is no retainer on the DT 1990. You just peel the pad off the earcup by pulling it away at a 90 degree angle. Then you line up the plastic ring on the new cup with the slot in the earcup and wind it back on. It's a bit finicky but its gets easier after a few times.
OTOH, I have absolutely no desire to re-install the B pads.
