is it posible to stretch a pair of beyer dynamic 880/990 pads onto a700's ?
the reason im asking is because i find the plether pads on the a700's a little thin, i had to stuff kleenex under the pads to keep my ears from brushing the grilles.

and also what other mods is there for the A700?

A70 is closed. 880\990 are open. Putting non-isolating pads on closed phones will destroy the bass and make the sound very bright.
Better look for DT 770 pads.

For other mods, you may want to play around with the idea of similar mods to markl mods for the d5000. I have tried very successfully on a pair of audio technica SJ3. Used plastacine as dampers and very carefully stripped cotton to semi fill the back of the drivers..

Since then they have replaced my K501 for my PC rig. Only break out the K501 on the rare occasions I want to listen to classical/vocals
