Hello,

I'm looking into buying the DT-880 600 ohm version and was wondering if I might run into any issues using them with my motherboard's audio. I have a Gigabyte Elite AX rev 1.1. with ALC1220-VB. Based on the data I could find it should be able to drive a 600ohm headphone, however, I'm not entirely sure.

Does anyone have any idea/hands-on experience with this and can let me know?

Don't currently have the budget for the headphones and an iFi Zen Can that I want to get.

Thank you.

There is a 32 and 250 ohm version.

I'd prefer getting the 600 ohm version so I have it for long-term. Otherwise I'd get the 32 or 250 ohm and buy the 600 later and that's just money thrown around.

Just wanted to see if I can use the 600 ohm on the motherboard while I get a good amp and dac.

OK, I only threw it out because lower impedance versions are going to sound louder with a wider range of devices. I haven't tried a 600 ohm headphone direct from PC and my 300 ohm headphones, I only have 1/4" or XLR for.
