Has anyone managed to lay their hands on the new Beyerdynamic DT 770 M headphones? I've been looking for a retailer in the US but no one has seen them yet or can even quote me a price. I even sent an email to Beyerdynamic USA asking and was referred to a local dealer who quoted me a price for the 770 Pro. When I corrected him and specifically asked for the 770 M he told me there was no such thing. I haven't even been able to find a review which leads me to believe they are as scarce as hens teeth.

Also, the DT770M has an 80-ohm impedance, vs. 250-ohm for the DT770 and 770Pro. (Also interesting -- I hadn't noticed before that Beyer quotes 35db of isolation for the 770M versus 18db for the 770 and 770 Pro.)

Well then, thanks for the info. I think I can help you. . . . . Two weeks ago I auditioned the 80 ohm versions. One of the other differences that I noticed was that they had a straight cable with a mini plug, instead of the coil cable with the satndard 1/4" plug. They have them in stock (as of two weeks ago) at Guitar Center, in Hollywood on Sunset Strip. They were asking $199.00 for them. . . . . When I was there they had a demo pair, and several boxed ones on hand.
