Well, no-one specified that this thread had to be about digital sources, so I'm just going to go ahead and start one about the new Drop + Audio Technica collab - the $349 Carbon VTA Turntable.

I probably listen to more vinyl than digital over headphones, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here...right?

The first person who posted a review on Drop (and apparently also received it in advance of market release) reported:

"The Drop turntable comes with a built-in preamp that has a line out bypass to use an external phono preamp. I have found that this is not a clear output and it will put a veil on the highs without some modifications."

Did you test this TT system with the built-in pre-amp switched off? If so did you find this same defect?
